There's been a number of posts on this John and yes, there's no problem.
The Belkin adapter seems to be the most popular.

Can anyone in the group advise if the PCR1000 Rx
will work with a USB to RS232 converter ?

As usual,I seem to always run out of Com ports,but have
plenty of USB capability.
