[PCR-1000] To service or Not to service

My point exactly. ICOM never really wanted us to be able to back-up our
EEPROM. I'm sure it is (was) their expectation to generate service repair
income from corrupted EEPROM units being returned for repair which is why
they will not give their PCR1000 customers a program to allow them to do it
themselves. To amplify upon a point made earlier, it is ridiculous that they
acknowledge that their software is outdated and therefore direct you to 3rd
party sources for "modern" software. They then turn right around and punish
you for using 3rd party software UPON THEIR RECOMMENDATION when a repair is
needed. Very aggravating company.
