[PCR-1000] To service or Not to service

Hello George
There is a program PCR1000BUR 1.2 I have used it. A very useful 
program, I'll email it to you if you like. It is large 2.4mb.

Thank you all the kind folks that came to my aid with helpful advice etc.
To the gentleman who thought I had not backup please read my emails again 
a notice I said I did but only my O/S partition.
BTW I not quit out of the woods yet I need to do the alignment that the
PCR1000BUR program calls for , I'm glad I have a good frequency counter 
in test equipment.

Since reading so much about corrupted EEPROM problems with the PCR-1000, I
am concerned about my own 1000 which is several years old now. I have used
only the Icom control program.

How does one go about "backing up the EEPROM?"

I am quite computer proficient and would appreciate a description of the
back-up procedure. 

It would be comforting to have a backup stashed away somewhere "just in
case."  <:}
