The 12v "wall wart" that came with it is fairly cheap. It isn't the original
Icom power adapter (at least I don't think so). Maybe this is the problem?

But... even when the radio is powered on and no receiver software is
running, the buzzing and interference doesn't occur on my other shortwaves
nearby. Only when the software is initialized and the radio responds to the
software does the interference begin.
