[PCR-1000] New member / Serial #

Hello folks...

   Just picked up a PCR-1000 after debating on a computer controlled
scanner for some time.
Had some problems finding a dealer here in Ottawa but managed to locate
one. When I got the
scanner home I realized it was one of the US locked versions (surprised
me since full coverage
is allowed in Canada). Somewhat miffed I continued to inspect the radio
and to my delight discovered
my serial number.... #02184! Grabbed the PCR1000BUR and reset the
nationality to CANADA and it
worked like a charm. Still need to pick up an external antannae, but so
far pleased with the
functionality and reception. 

    Now the question is, is it worth getting the DSP addon?
