[PCR-1000] frequency mod

I am using TalkPCR but don't understand what steps to do to see if the
software mod works.  I can stumble through simple instructions though. I
don't understand what to do to try the mod and am afraid I will corrupt the
microprocessor.  I need to back up the original first but don't know what to
do.
