[PCR-1000] windows locks up....

Tom,
My first off-the-top guess is that your mouse and the PCR-1000 are
conflicting over use of a serial com port. (That of course assumes you are
using a serial mouse.) You will get an IRQ (interrupt) contention, for
example, when you have devices connected to COM1: and COM3: and they both
try to interrupt the CPU at the same time. (This would happen when you
click the VFO knob, for example.) Could be any number of other things, too,
but check that first. If you are using COM3: for the PCR-1000, make sure
your serial mouse is on COM2:, not COM1: -- or use a PS2 or USB mouse instead.
