[PCR-1000] reloaded EEPROM, all is well

Well, I recently got back from a trip to find my PCR-1000 had been returned 
from Icom.  (Quick history--I returned it for being "deaf", under 
warranty.  They said it was from corruption caused by third party software, 
and it would cost me a hefty price--NOT covered by the warranty.  I denied 
repair; they charged me $25 for the "estimate" + about $10 shipping.  Total 
cost was about $45 to me, still not fixed!)

Luckily, I had backed up my radio with the "backpcr" program shortly after 
I purchased it.  The data came in handy :)  I did restore it--took all of 
about 5 mins, including the boot to Win98 command line via floppy.  It is 
working fine again.

I have been having fun looking over the comparsions/analysis of various 
settings of the EEPROM that were posted on the web (the name escapes me at 
the moment...).  My unit has some values (in addition to the freq/crystal 
one of course) that vary quite a bit from the "average".  Some are at, or 
even beyond, the ranges specified.  So, I might experiment a bit with 
custom settings for some of the values.  Not as good as a "real" alignment, 
but easy and potentially fun to do :-)
