If you have lots of wires connected to your PC around the PCR that could be
the problem esp if not shielded

assume you used a separate ground for the PCR and not the house ground or
water pipe, etc?

Is the PC grounded?

did you put RF chokes on the RS-232, audio and power line cables? You can get
them at radio shack or HRO.

what kind of antenna are you using, is it grounded? You might want to put RF
chokes on it as well where it comes in the house. If using a long wire or the
whip that came with it this could be the problem. My roof mounted RS discone
works great with the PCR even in HF

wireless doorbells, dimmer switches, fish tank heaters and the like have
caused many RFI problems.

if above doesnt fix it you may want to go around the house shutting off
breakers or with an AM radio turned to a quiet frequency to locate the
source. could even be at a neighbors

happy hunting, let me know what you find.
