Everyone's entitled to his/her own opinion, of course, but IMHO when one
subscribes to a mailing list the prime objective is to share opinions and
information with other members of this list. Therefore the default option
should be reply to list. This happens in all other lists I subscribe to
(also on qth.net!). When at a certain moment it is necessary to contact
someone personally, you do so, by substituting the list address by the other
person's name.

share my view with all the list members. Just to show...
