Here's another couple of pennies.

We ARE talking about mailing lists, whose only function is to BROADcast
messages to members who elected to be in the list. One person transmits, the
repeater lets all hear it. It is exactly like if your HT lost its repeater
offset after every transmission. You'd be mighty pissed if it had to be
reset to "repeater offset ON" before EVERY transmission.

The list SHOULD be set as "reply to all" to do its job. OTOH if you want to
reply to the sender, all you would have to do, if it were a Yahoo!group
list, would be to REPLY, then swipe your mouse over the "from" info, hot
CTRL-C to COPY, and mouse up to the "TO" area and replace the list address
with the one you wanted to send to, the original poster.

Note that "reply to all" sends this to Dale, Tom, the list, and Dale and Tom
again through the list!

I have no idea what the comment about digests is, but I do know that since I
forgot to hit "reply to all" as I post this, which would be the easy way to
reply to the list, although the "sender" would get it twice ( once on
simplex and another through the list ), I now have to copy this entire post,
close this window, hit "reply to all", paste the text back in, and also
should go up and delete the original poster's email out of the "to" field
which I won't do...

It shouldn't be this complicated, folks. Yahoo!groups has the system knocked
cold. I hope they don't fail.
