[PCR-1000] Modification of 1000 to remove gaps

I had a few old scanners that were not cell blocked.  Now that almost all
phones are digital, there's not much reason to listen to the original
AMPS/IMTS cell bands.  In fact, almost all cordless phones being sold today
are 2.4GHz digital, some with frequency hopping and/or spread spectrum.

Even congress people have learned not to blab on their cell phones.  Now
that a wiretap can be done so easily and follow the user nationwide through
the newer cell switches, A few of the DC types have gone to encrypted packet
radio (SMR) for privacy.

Anyone who blabs anything that will potentially bite them on any electronic
media (including email) is not using their noodle......

I just set in the frequencies for a number of TV stations (audio part).  I
then re-realized that I had forgotten how much of the VHF bandwidth is
allocated to non-digital TV (83 channels time 5MHz EACH).  No wonder the
gov't want to migrate us all to digital TV's narrower bandwidth.  It'll open
up about 350-400MHz (about 1/3 of the sub 1GHz spectrum) for auction -
BILLIONS OF INCOME for air.....

BTW, many of the TV broadcasters are quite off their assigned audio
frequency - many by more than 15KHz.  They are allocated a 5MHz space for
video, corona, and audio and I think most TV sets use a pretty wide (50KHz?)
bandwidth for audio.  Turning on the PCR-1000's AFC function will tune the
audio very close within 10-15 seconds.
