[PCR-1000] usb port

I would bet you could find a card to put into the computer which will
give you USB ports, particularly if it's a computer with PCI slot
available.

It's just amazing what is out there when you look, someone has it for
sure.

What I've always needed is just the opposite --  the ability to run a
USB
device on a serial port.  No such device about other than another USB
capable system that can be networked to my 1996 'relic' PC.

    Not being a PC giant I'm open to suggestions.  Anyone have any ideas
??

I've hung onto my old circa 1997 200mHz/Win'95 system as it runs all of
the
older QBASIC shareware.  Of course it does not support USB.....

The radio manufacturers seem (if you look at their specs) to not realize
that world did go usb and they no longer ship any DOS, Win 3.1, or
Win'95
based systems.  Read ICOM's ad and you realize that have not even become
aware of Win'98.  I really think that ICOM believes 'XP' is the name of
the
next Star Wars movie.
