[PCR-1000] PCR1000 s/n 6153 (discone comment)

I just put up a diamond discone with some 9913 belden cable... Other than
not using N connectors, it has been a great setup.... It seems to be very
consistent across the band as rated... 25mhz - 1200  900 mhz things seem to
be great!  Between that and my 2 meter ham antenna I see a 3-5 s-unit
increase which is pretty significant...  It's recieves every bit as WELL as
my 2 meter antenna although I doubt it transmits as well *grin*

Agree that the whip isn't too good, but a ham antenna system will in all
probability overload the receiver front end. This set seems to like a
"Discone" aerial  best - but remember that it is for vertically polarized
reception.
