All -

It seems that many when they respond to the "questionnaire" are not replying to the reflector but to me.  I will forward the emails I've received so that.  PLEASE make sure that the PBARC reflector ([email protected]) is on your to line or your cc line.

This one is form Mike, WOMS.

Hi, All.

Thanks to Glenn for letting us all comment on the relocations of the repeaters at Simmons. I do not use Facebook for a host of reasons, but appreciate the opportunity to comment on the relocations.

Obviously, Simmons is a good antenna location because it is high – probably 130+ feet which is likely the tallest non-tower location in the city. The environment is not ideal, but from my observation many of the serviceability and reliability issues can be remedied.

The proposed changes will likely result in changes to services presently available. The extent of the changes is apparently unknown, and my understanding is that no one has even tried to assess the impact. Would it not be more respectful of all Club members to know, in advance, what changes in service are likely from these changes?

I would hope that the Club would seek to expand their coverage and services over time. This posture will to make it possible to expand membership and at the same time, not purposefully, eliminate services to current members.

For these reasons, I am against the relocations.

Mike.

Subject: [PBARC] Moving of the 442.175 DMR repeater

All -

I’m sending out this “questionnaire” to get your thoughts on moving the 442.175 repeater.

As you may know, the Simmons Bank location has served us well but there are issues with the site.  Many of them are environmental and just the ease of being able to work on the equipment.

While no site has been identified we are considering looking for a site depending on the feedback we receive.  Our biggest issue is getting internet service.  Many companies won’t allow us to use their company internet (for obvious reasons) so that leaves us with using a mifi device.  Mifi devices don’t work well, if at all, in a metal building.

I encourage you to share your thoughts but please be civil and respectful of those that might have differing opinions.

Finally, if you know of someone who is not on this reflector and wants to be, please let me know by direct email not by replying to this email.

Tnx es 73,

Glenn
