It is that time of year again to consider someone who you want to 
nominate or is planning on running for office in the PBARC. I will not 
be putting my name in the hat since I will be moving out of the area 
next year. I hope you will consider this if your interested. The 
positions are President, Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer.

Another item is that we will discuss the special event station that we 
conducted on September 2nd. I want to thank, Mike W5KZ for his hard work 
and coordination with the SES location personnel. Also, I would like to 
thank Glen N5RN and Shane KG5SRO for their participation. We had fun and 
learned some interesting facts about the sub and tug boat.

Please attend if at all possible, as we need your input and 
participation. Look forward to seeing you there.

We are planning two open days for a very large inventory of ham radio equipment, towers, antennas, parts and even tools tjst came in. The days are Friday October 6 and Saturday 7 October.
There will be new and used gear. Kenwood, Yaesu, Icom, Elecraft, Flex and more. Amps, keys, interfaces, power supplies etc etc. I will post a video a week before the event. We accept cash or major credit cards. Free hotdogs and drinks. Mark your calendars and please share and spread the word to your clubs.

Please see the email from Karen below and look at the attached flyer.

Be advised that there are prerequisites and you will have to show proof 
that you have taken the required training.? I seem to have lost my 
certificate for ICS-200 so I will be retaking it.?? You can determine 
the courses you have received credit for by checking the FEMA site.

As a side note, I attended the ADXA meeting in Russellville yesterday 
and they are expecting a big impact to that community due to the eclipse 
next year.? They expect the population of the area to swell to 300,000.? 
Hotel rooms are essentially unavailable.? Food and fuel will be 
difficult to find for a few days before and after the event. Traffic 
patterns will be altered in Russellville to accommodate the influx of 
people.? Moving around in Russellville will be difficult.? Plan for the 
worse and hope for the best!

An AUXCOMM course is being offered October 7-8, 2023 at the White Hall 
Fire Department Station #2 at 5 Hospitality Drive in White Hall. This 
class is designed for those auxiliary emergency communicators and groups 
who volunteer to provide backup emergency radio communications support 
to public safety agencies. Typically, this includes amateur radio and 
Radio Emergency Associated Communications Team (REACT) communicators, 
but may include other volunteer emergency communicators. There is no 
charge for this training, and course materials will be provided by CISA 
ECD.? Some travel/per diem costs may be covered by ADEM.? Please?check 
with John Minard on this. His email address along with other information 
regarding AUXCOMM is on the attached flyer. There are some prerequisites 
for the class and they are described on the flyer.

FYI, the new President will be Shane(KG5SRO), Vice President is 
Bill(KC5MN), and Sec-Treas is Glen(N5RN). Next meeting is October 10th
