All –
It looks like Joe Taylor (author of WSJT-X) has release a new version of WSJT-X (V 2.10 it is release candidate) that is supposed to be comparable to RTTY contesting speeds. It is 2.5x faster than FT8 while using less bandwidth than RTTY.
There are several “mock” contests planned for the near future.
I’m excited to hear about this because my experience in the recent FT8 contest was less than positive. I found it to be excessively slow to work and log a contact. I worked several hours and only logged about 100 Qs.
I found this information on QRZnow.com.
I will be exploring this option for FT8 contesting. Hope you will too!
