Howdy all!!Well we had a good meeting Tuesday! Attending were;
bill,kc5mn-n5rn glen-aa5pw paul-don kf5sro- and larry n5jwj also showing up
were two long lost members, dale n5rac and jeff kf5agy!! It was a very, very
good group. Lots of talk about were people had been, radios and other good
stuff. Elections were finally held with a unanimous vote tokeep current
officers. So you are still stuck with myself as president, keith kk5zd as vp
and bill kc5mn as secretary/treasurer. If anyone is interested the club has
an hf rig we would like to sell. It is a Kenwood ts820s with matching manual
tuner and matching speaker with built in audio filters. We would like to get
somewhere close to $500 for it. This is a very well kept rig that had
belonged to jack,kj5pe. I have it her at my house putting it on air to
verify working  status. If anybody is interested contact me or bill. The
radio has a 120 volt power supply builtin and has a manual also. Please keep
it in mind if you or someone you know is interested. Jeff kf5agy also
mentioned that one of the Girl Scout groups was going to hold a walkathon in
regional park and wondered if we might help out. The group thought it would
be a good opportunity to show of ham radio. Well, I got an email this
afternoon from jeff stating they had called off the event currently. Jeff
will let us know further details. Also keep  in mind the Boy Scouts jamboree
On the Air is october 19-20 this year . if you are on the air that weekend
PLEASE contact any scout related station you hear! Also the Arkansas section
simulated emergency test will be November 2 which is a Saturday , which
should make it easier to participate, compared to the usual weekday. More
details later, PLEASE think about working the set and let's try to be more
active here. We are the only ones that can do it when a disaster strikes.
Well probably enough for now . I will have more later on the SETex. I
believe we should do something as we do have connection to OEM and Red Cross
with equipment  at both locations. That's all folks!! At least for now . 73
