Folks,
As you are aware, there is an occasional period of the repeater being 
keyed (with no valid input signal but a lot of noise) for a long enough
period to time out the repeater. Larry (N5JWJ) noted one day that he 
could hear a signal on the input frequency to the repeater
at his work QTH. The other day, I was down that way (during a time when 
the repeater was quiet and not operating), I found a
signal about 175 kiloherckles below the repeater input frequency around 
Larry's work QTH (with the kind of noise that we hear on the repeater) 
and for several hundred yards to the  east, west and south. Today, I 
went back to Larry 's QTH with a beam and was going to try and locate 
the signal.  The signal was not to be found.

We will continue to chase this rat as time permits.
