FYI -
Not sure where this will ultimately take amateur radio.
I also remember Mickey indicating that he didn't expect that the board
would take any action on 97.113 at this time. Hmmmm.

Hello all:
I am very happy to report the Board has taken what I consider to be two
very important actions: the establishment of an Emergency
Communications Advisory Committee, and the staff was instructed to seek
a change in Section 97.113(a)(3) of the FCC rules to permit amateurs,
on behalf of an employer, to participate in emergency preparedness and
disaster drills that include Amateur operations.
As all of you know, EMCOMM is what pays the freight for ham radio. I
am very happy the Board acknowledges and supports that concept.
Hopefully we can move forward to make Arkansas a leader in EMCOMM once
again.
In the same article, you will see that Kay Craigie, N3KN was elected to
the President position. Congratulations to Kay! I take note our man
Rick, K5UR moved up to First Vice President as well. By the way,
thanks to Joel W5ZN for his service as President.
