10:10 - Table setup in shelter area
10:28 - KK5ZD stepped away from radio
10:30 - KK5ZD returned to radio
10:30 - Request to HQ for Spanish interpreter
10:32 - No Spanish interpreter found at HQ
10:33 - Food begins arriving at shelter
10:41 - Discussion with FEMA evaluator (Sue Sawyer)
10:51 - Man wielding gun threatens volunteer - HQ contacted about the
need for assistance from authorities. Man taken out of building
10:52 - HQ says Authorities to arrive in 3 Min
10:53 - After being subdued, same man wields a second gun
10:54 - Authorities arrive and arrest man
10:55 - Situation returns to normal
11:03 - Client reports 103 temperature and baby color is not good
11:04 - Ambulance to transport client and baby to arrive in 1 minute.
Client and Child will be at Health Services Clinic
11:05 - Client told that JRMC is backed up will be taken to Dumas
instead. Client agrees
11:08 - HQ indicates that 32 more clients headed to Shelter. Asks if we
can handle.
11:09 - Shelter leader indicates there is no space for them here. They
need to proceed to secondary shelter.
11:10 - HQ inquires about the status of food and water at shelter
11:11 - Shelter reports both food and water supplies are adequate for
the night
11:11 - Shelter inquires about the status of hot meal for lunch.
11:11 - HQ says that kitchen was not aware of need for hot lunch.
Suggests that lunch be sandwiches or foods at shelter with next hot meal
to be supper.
11:13 - HQ asks if John Q Public has been registered at shelter. If so,
there is a message to be passed.
11:14 - No John Q Public registered at this shelter
11:15 - HQ inquiry about the need for medical supplies at shelter
(prescriptions)
11:16 - Shelter responds that on person will need medicine: Madol 40 mg
1/day
11:17 - Prescription authorized for refill - 5 days. Delivery will be
this afternoon
11:18 - KK5ZD away from radio
11:20 - KK5ZD returned to radio
11:21 - Shelter was officially closed.
There was an extensive debriefing session on what worked and what
didn't. How to really handle the situations that come up. FEMA
evaluator praised the operation.
One of the biggest issues was the setting up of the cots. There were no
instructions and they were difficult to setup due to the way they folded.
This was the last CSEPP related exercise. The RC has intentions of doing
more exercise on their own to keep everybody trained.
