It still looks as though there will be a couple of winter weather
threats in Arkansas during the upcoming week. At this point, these do
not look to be big winter storms, but there may be enough precipitation
to cause some travel problems.
The first weather system could begin to affect northwest Arkansas with
some snow as early as Wednesday. Better chances for precipitation will
exist Wednesday night into Thursday. During this time frame, northern
Arkansas should see a chance of snow, and central sections of the state
could see rain or snow. If temperatures are cold enough, there could be
some freezing rain in southwest Arkansas.
The next weather system will affect Arkansas from Thursday night into
Friday. Again, northern Arkansas has the best chance of seeing snow,
while central parts of the state could see a rain/snow mix. If
temperatures are cold enough, the rain/snow mix could also affect
southwest parts of the state.
I will issue the next message Tuesday morning around 9:15 AM.
