Air Travelers Should be Aware of New Security Policies
08/10/2006

Entergy employees planning business air travel, and employees and their
families planning personal air travel, should be aware of new aircraft
security measures including a prohibition of liquids in carry-on items.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has increased its aviation
security measures and official threat levels in coordination with
British security agencies responding to a reported plot to attack
passenger aircraft en route from the United Kingdom to the United
States. Although U.S. officials have said there is no indication of
specific threats within this country, the government has raised the
nation's threat level to Severe, or Red, for commercial flights from the
United Kingdom to the United States.

In addition, the threat level has been raised to High, or Orange, for
the transportation industry including commercial flights in or bound for
the United States. Travelers can expect higher security measures at
airports and should be aware that the U.S. Transportation Security
Administration is prohibiting any liquids, including beverages, hair
gels, and lotions, from carry-on items. Additional information is
available at the Federal Aviation Administration's Web site,
http://www.faa.gov <http://www.faa.gov/> .

Although there is no change in the Homeland Security alert level for the
electric utility industry, employees should be attentive and maintain
overall security vigilance at all Entergy work sites.

Glenn
