It appears that our usefulness in handling emergency and priority traffic
has all but expired. I have been in contact with Section Managers from
Louisana and Mississipi and they concur with this evaluation. We,
therefore, plan to terminate this net at the close of the 11:00PM to 1:00AM
tour on Friday, 9-9-05. We further wish all net control stations beginning
at 7AM Friday to make this announcement one time during your tour and advise
all listening stations that an "open net" with no net control will be
continued on 3862 khz. there are a number of stations in South Mississippi
which "hang out" on this frequency and it can be used to make
contacts as needed. Also on the same condition applies to 3937 khz for
stations in Arkansas. I and other SHARES licensees will continue to be
points of contact for the SHARES Federal Emergency net to get their traffic
to the area as needed.

My sincere thanks to all of you who have stood with us and supported the
desperate needs of our people in South Mississippi and Louisana for the past
two weeks.

73 Lee Franks, AD5IS WGAEN Net Mgr.
