FEMA has advised that many FEMA uniforms, badges, and letterheads have been stolen in the Disaster Areas. 

	 
They have been used as fake identification and the suspects have referred to themselves as FEMA procurement officers 
but no such position exists. The suspects are using the phony status to steal vehicles, fuel, and valuables.

In some cases the suspects have been armed. FEMA agents are never armed.
If you are approached by someone claiming to be from FEMA require them to show a photo ID. 

All FEMA personnel have photo ID's.
