All -
KK5ZD, N5VGJ, and I met at the Red Cross about 0900 and completed the
following:
* Put PL259 (male) connectors on the 3 coax ends out by the tower
* Took down the dipole within the warehouse
* Measured the coax runs as they came out of the conduit at the tower base
* #1 Run - 59 feet
* #2 Run - 43 feet
* #3 Run - 44 feet
* We evaluated the possibility of using the multiband dipole from AlphaDelta
and with a minor investment for materials we believe we can install this
antenna and use it until a decision is made about a vertical.
* AlphaDelta antenna is approximately 82 feet long with center at
midpoint (each leg is about 41 feet long)
* Items we need
* pulley to mount on existing horizontal pipe
* pull rope to lift the center point of dipole
* rope for both ends of dipole
* pushup type of pole to be mounted on fence (either brick on wood)
to support one end of dipole
* second leg to be tied off on light pole on back side of building
* Side arms will be required to mount the 2M/440 Antennas
* one of the antennas is 17 feet tall - dual band antenna from Diamond
* other is a much shorter antenna
* legs on the tower are 3 inches in diameter
* I will be looking at what is available and contact Donna
To do:
* Discuss options of using the dipole with Donna
* Identify side arms and order (after discussion with Donna)
* Locate pushup pole or mast pipe for one leg of dipole
* Discuss tying second leg to light pole
* Determine lengths of jumpers to allow us to connect antennas and then
order
* Identify small items needed for dipole installation then purchase (see
above)
* Schedule another work day at RC to begin this work.
