There is no communications issue at this time.  Cell phones, their normal way of communicating, are still up and functioning.



I just spoke with Donna down at the Red Cross and she thinks it might be beneficial to have a ham stationed at the Convention center to help the staff there to determine what their needs might be. The request was to also help the staff and volunteers that are at the convention center to handle the people that are coming in.
 
What she is thinking is that we could monitor the vehicle traffic coming up from the south and relay to the Red Cross what we are seeing.  It would give them a heads up on what, if anything, is coming our way. It will help them plan for water, food, bedding, etc.

If you are available this afternoon to help, please go to the convention center and offer your services.
