Just a note on what was discussed this morning on the Arkansas
ARES/RACES net on 3.9875 MHZ -
Encourage your fellow hams the importance of joining the ARRL. The ARRL
is our loudest voice when it comes to protecting our frequencies and our
hobby.
Another reminder, the main frequencies for emergency communications in
the state are: 3.9875 MHz, 7.285 MHz, 146.520 (simplex), and our local
repeater (146.700). In the event, that the 146.700 machine goes down,
use 146.700 simplex. These are starting points are may change due to
band conditions and other reasons.
Remember, this State ARES/RACES net meets every sunday morning at 0700
(yeah, it is early) and right after the razorback net on monday nights
on 3.9875 MHz. Even if you don't have HF priviledges, tune it in and
listen. We have one heck of net control in W5RXU, Dale Temple. You
will learn something.
