NCS - Eldon K7ZQR
It was commented that 7285.0 was quite busy with traffic from other
states. It was difficult to find a clear frequency.
No formal program. Dale was working 100 mile race and had severe local
interference. Eldon received a phone call and was asked to be NCS.
Eldon believes that quarterly meeting is next Sunday in Conway.
Program was getting comments from checkins and their reports on the SET
yesterday.
Take your own equipment particularly if an HT - you know how to work it.
Some of the equipment at OEM will be foreign to you and there will be a
learning curve. If you bring your own equipment, make sure you have spare
batteries.
Jack KJ5PE reported the problem we had at the hospital with 2M and that we
moved over to 440 and we got things to work. Jack indicated a total of 6
checkins - one at hospital, 2 at OEM, a few mobiles. Jack indicated a
couple of messages were passed.
MidSouth Skywarn - KE4GYR - Commented about frequency problems on 40
Meters specifically. Talked about the need to coordinate these
frequencies. He commented that traffic handling needed attention.
Commented that the SET may be the only chance that some have to pass
traffic.
A couple of comments about the difficultly of making contacts on 80M
during the day, 40M is better.
Some concerns about RF and it's use in the hospital and it's possible
interference with hospital equipment. Ventilators may be the most RF
intolerant of all the equipment in the hospital.
27 Checkins recorded.
