Changes and a question for you to consider

All -

Hope you all survived the Russellville hamfest, if you went. I know I did. I had a good visit with some friends that I haven't seen in a while. One of the positives was that my oldest son, Warren (7 years old), for the first time indicated an interest in taking his technician test. I won't push him yet but for him to indicate the interest is a good sign.

First a change - and I don't know if it will be permanent or not - in the past emails posted to the PBARC list ([email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> ) were pre-pended with [PBARC] to help identify what that the message came from the PBARC list. Well, if you have noticed, all the weather messages that I've posted lately have had the first letter of the type of weather message it is dropped. For example, Hazardous Weather became azardous Weather... Flood Warning became lood Warning.

After a couple of emails to the author of the Interwarn product, he suggested that the first letter isn't being dropped but is being replaced with [PBARC]. To test his theory, I removed the [PBARC] pre-pending and now the weather messages go through correctly. The downside, all the messages have lost the pre-pending. I will be playing with the pre-pending to see if there is a solution that will allow the PBARC to continue and keep the correctly spelled weather bulletin title included on the subject line. So bear with me on getting weather messages as they are the only way I can test the changes.

Second - Please give some thought to doing the Railroad-a-rama this year. Do we want to do it or not? Email feed back to [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> would be appreciated. I believe it is the first Saturday in April. We may have to use a railroad car to setup.

PLEASE give me some feed back so that we can tell the Railroad-a-rama folks what our plans are.

Glenn
