The Pine Bluff Amateur Radio Club met August 19, 2003, with 8 =
members present. The minutes of the July meeting were read and =
approved. The treasurer reported a balance of $xxx.
John Poss introduced our guest, Wayne Norton, Public Information =
Officer with the OEM. His talk covered Arsenal disasters. We were all =
urged to prepare disaster kits, pick a security room in our homes, and =
be prepared for a 5 to 8 hour stay in the security room if a gas =
disaster occurs. We were taken on a tour of his office.
NEW BUSINESS: The nominating committee presented the following =
slate of officers for the 2003 - 2004 year.
President Glenn Wolf
Vice-President John Gaines
Secretary/Treasurer Mary Ellen Jehlen
Jerry moved, seconded by Susan, that the slate of officers be approved. =
The motion passed. Jack gave the Races/Ares report. He has appointed a =
steering committee, which is to meet and make plans for the Races group. =
He gave a report on the meeting held with Wally Hunt. John Poss =
reported that the problem on the 24 repeater has been repaired.
OLD BUSINESS: Glenn reported that the 70 antenna has been removed =
from the Noble Lake site and is at this time stored at the home of Stan =
Johnson. Stan is to work out what to do for Bruce Holstead. It was =
suggested that we hold our meetings at the White Hall City Hall. Jack =
is to check into the availability of this room. The White Hall Founders =
Day activities, the Boat Races over Labor Day weekend were discussed. =
We decided to stand down for this year due to the fact no van is =
available for our use. ARRL literature for the Library was discussed. =
Jack will purchase the ARRL book and place it in the Library. Setting =
up a station at the Scout Jamboree was discussed. It was decided we =
would try to do this and Glenn is to check with Stan on the date. =20
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
