[Park] Charity

Kind of a "Feel Good" Thing.

On Monday when I presented our $50 contribution to the local Sheriff's Dept. for their toy drive, I found out that Tori the lady deputy I usually meet has retired.

I was taken into the office and I met a senior civillian lady who was handling the drive. When I presented her with the gift card from Target she was really pleased; they had a request from a family with twin boys and the gift card came as an unexpected fund to help them with that request.

PARK also, in conjunction with EPARA, $50 each, sent an annual gift to the Seaman's Church Institute in Phila., a most deserving charity at this time of year.

PARK's funds are low but somehow with charity gifts it doesn't seem to matter.

On the 2nd Thursday in Jan., we will hold our first official combined meeting, EPARA and PARK, referred to right now as, "The Radio Club". It has been decided at the last PARK meeting, that EPARA's elected line of officers will preside, with the addition of PARK's treasurer managing PARK's funds for the present.

Merry Christmas and a great New Year to all.
