David R. Bank, 50, of East Stroudsburg, died Wednesday, June 15, at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg.

Born in Newark, N.J., he was the son of Gloria A. (Brzozowski) Bank and the late Raymond F. Bank.

David was a Park Ranger at the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, where he was involved in interpretive studies. He obtained his license to operate a HAM Radio and was a member of the Monroe County Amateur Radio Club. David enjoyed listening to classical rock and closely followed the group Government Mule. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing. David was the first paraplegic to ride a mule into the Grand Canyon, proving that he wasn't disabled, but only determined to continue to fulfill his life's purpose.

David was the devoted father of Katie E. Bank and Peter R. Bank and is also survived by his sister, Kathaleen T. Higginbotham and her husband, Jimmy; his brother, Andrew Bank; his wife, Susan (Nightengale) Bank; and many nieces and nephews.

The Rev. Fr. Joseph R. Kopacz will conduct a blessing service at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at the Bolock Funeral Home in Cresco. There will be a viewing from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Private cremation will follow in the Bolock Funeral Home Crematory.
