Greetings to Monroe County Hams;

Saturday my son in law and I went down to the Phoenix area, (Of Arizona),
and went to a R/C Model Jet Airplane show; quite fascinating, I have always
enjoyed model planes R/C but these guys were flying only jets, models
zooming,skimming climbing and diving at 200mph. Really neat, couple of
crashes because like the bigger planes, when they run out of fuel, they
drop quickly. They raffled off one model worth $4K. 

The only problem, (?), was "Getting shed", of any jacket or anything
heavier than a Tee shirt, weather was 73 and sun bright. Pleasant viewing
wx.

Ecitement not over when show finished; when we arrived home , my daughter
told of her adventure, 15 mins. after we left for show; one dog barking
cont., she went to investigate and in area next to fenced in yard were two
lions, (We call them cougars),when she went to gather the two dogs one cat
actually looked at her. Patricia knows the difference between Mt.Lions and
bob cats, and she reported it to the AZ Game & Fish folks.
I took a look today, (Sunday), and there were some possible foot prints and
a definite bedding area under bush where she firast spotted them. Last week
I saw a tawny colored something or other move in the area but did not get a
good look at it. We have had all sorts of critters here but no "Rattlers"
yet.

Sorry that my vacation is half over, return home too quickly on Mar. 4.
