A day of Mourning or Celebration has occurred depending on your point of view.

The FCC has issued a statement that Morse Code will be dropped from all 
amateur class license testing.  Usually that becomes effective 30 days 
after the announcement but it could be as soon as 1 JAN 07 or as late as 30 
FEB 07.  It is also possible that the FCC could make the effective date 15 
DEC 06, the date of the announcement.

It is time for all those who want to upgrade to start studying for the next 
class of license.  Each month on the third Thursday at 6:30 a VE session 
will occur at the OES building in Snydersville.  Anyone who wants to take 
the exam should let me know so that we can arrange to have a VE Team ready 
to give the test.
