You might have heard that I went to Ohio, and I am in the process of
moving there. We went to Ohio on (I think) last Wednesday or so. We had a
great time there, and I am already starting to learn my way around. There
are multiple radio clubs around there, that I would like to join. The main
local club around there is PARF or W8CTT or www.qsl.net/w8ctt.
We went to New York state on Sunday (I think) and about halfway up, we
got a flat tire. Luckily, we (for once) had cell phone coverage. My mom
called AAA, and they came up 45 minutes later. The person from AAA, changed
the tire, and let us follow him to a local gas station/quick repair place.
They did not have the right size tire. The employees there, told us how to
get to a Wal-Mart, auto section. We were in NY, on the PA border, and we had
to go back to PA to get to the wal-mart. For some unknown reason, we had to
wait about 3 hrs. and that was with the poor dog in the car. My mom finally
got the courage to ask them what was taking so long. 5 minutes after that,
we got our new tire put on.
A 7 1/2 hr. trip turned into a 13 or 14 hr. trip. We finally got up
there, and took care of some things we had to do to sell our NY property. We
are now in the area, and I have been on local repeater, meeting old friends.
With moving, we are moving out of the crime filled city of Bangor. This is
to farther our future. We are looking at things for the better; and although
it will be hard, without seeing my friends, it really is for the better. God
has plans for us.
I will be on HF, as I fell I am just about ready for the test.
Otherwise you can catch me in the novice portion of the bands. I love to get
on CW on 40 meters at 7.130, or 7.115. We will keep in touch. Really, I
promise.
I want to thank everyone for giving me a great start in
amateur radio. I look foreword to the advancements in life. I will continue
with the hobby for a lifetime!
I will love and miss everyone!
73 and talk to u soon!
Ricky
