I'm back from Vacation now, and am itching to get the plaques out. We have a couple of plaques that are very important, and since the sponsors have not gotten back to me in over a month after the last contact, I must move on and find new sponsors.

Mike, I?m going to defend the DLARC Treasurer here because you know I?ve been in touch with Mark NK8Q over this piece of business over the last 2 weeks. 

I get in trouble for getting mixed up in Club business because I?m not on the DLARC Board any longer, but your announcement to the entire Membership here suggesting you?ve been ignored by our Treasurer is way off and unfair if Mark has told you we?ve had a dialogue in the last 10 days. 

1) I told Mark our Treasurer never received your emails. Don?t know why; don?t care. 
2) So I verified (at Mark?s request) that the DLARC mailed Nittany ARC a check for the Sponsored Mobile Plaque right after the 2017 PAQSO Party Contest.
3) Your Treasurer has a long history of not presenting my own checks for years (SSB Sponsor) for greater than 6 months. I feel this is where your problem really lies.
4) The Treasurer has this matter on the next BOD agenda (next week) to discuss whether he should chance writing NARC another check and risk the original to surface and get cashed. Stopping it would incur a bank fee he?s not going to do without the BOD deciding in a majority. You aren?t on the distribution to this elevated, internal matter.
5) I?m sorry you feel the sudden urgency to order the trophies is now the burden of the Sponsor due to your bookkeepers incompetence which I understand is discretely considered legendary among the Party officials, but I won?t let you throw Mike Gower under the bus in public. He does an excellent job here and pays the bills on time. 

I expect to appear at the Bd Meeting on other business, but I will recommend they reconsider their longstanding commitment until PAQSO has an independent accounting method that doesn?t target the loyal Sponsors.

I can only speak for myself , but Pete  I think your comments were completely inappropriate ... The past e-mail was quiet generic .. Now I can see there is some behind the scenes issues , but I think that was a little too far ... Mike does quiet a lot as a labor of love ... I mean seriously where are you in this .... I can only speak for the last 3 years.... But doing the party ... How much did you spend between lodging , antennas, amps ... and most of all time of my personal job  to make a rare county combo possible in a rf hole .  I wish I could sponsor a plaque .. But being a younger op ... Family comes first with 2 young kids  money wise .... I may be new to the qso party, but I think private conversation  would suffice ...  As far as I see in this reflector it?s been who we worked ,not worked , or prep work before and after ... Give the guy a break,

Ugh - I did not see that his post had gone to the reflector too. Well it is what it is.  Having been called out in public, I?ve always had a policy of replying in public. Mainly because when people do not have some knowledge, rumors tend to break out. So I?ll fill people in on the details of the issue.

Thanks Pete for your thoughtful post to the reflector. A complaint is generally a gift, but we?ll see. The rest of this is for everyone. 

There was a problem with some of the sponsorships this year, and Mark and I were trying to get hold of some member of the board of directors in order to take care of the problem. 

This happens from time to time, and when trying to get hold of people by the normal channels fails, I take to the list here to ping the people I want to get hold of. I?ve done this for years. The ping was not meant to cast any aspersions on anyone, it was just as noted - an attempt to engage in some communications and fix the problem.

And it works. Within an hour or so, I spoke with  just the fellow I needed to speak with. So we are working the problem, and coming up with an equitable solution. Basically a free sponsorship that I was going to personally pay for, and move on. 

But in reading the letter, I must point something out that bothers me greatly and must be commented on. Ordinarily if in private email, I would let it go, but since the attack was made in a public forum I will respond.

Our treasurer is not incompetent. It some times takes some time to get answers to me, but it eventually works in the end. Leave her out of this, she is not here to defend herself, so I will. I am the chairman, and the buck stops with me. 

Finally, over the years, some folks have become quite incensed with me and have called for dissociating from the party or boycotting it, and while scorched earth is one way of sort of fixing the problem, perhaps my way of simply pinging and taking care of the problem and moving on is better. Certainly not as dramatic. Oh the stories I could tell.

Meanwhile, I apologize to the group for the surprise escalation of a simple problem solving request to be elevated to a public knockdown dragout attack upon myself, and most importantly upon our treasurer.

I know, I said last year that I was retiring. But, I've updated my PAQP
statistics site again. I do have a future plan for the data, but this
wasn't the year to give it up.

That being said, thanks to a lot of rain, which translated to a lot of free

results.

Simply put, my site lists the number of QSOs generated from each county
during the PAQPs for the last 31 years. You may be wondering "so what"?

I'm being plagued with page load times that are slower than I like, and
