From mjcn3li at gmail.com Mon Feb 6 01:05:16 2017 From: mjcn3li at gmail.com (Michael Coslo) Date: Mon, 6 Feb 2017 01:05:16 -0500 Subject: [PaQSO] PAQSO Party 2016 results Message-ID: Good morning all. The 2016 PAQSO Party Results have been posted at: http://nittany-arc.net/PAQSO.html There is a lot more information in them than there used to be, as well as the new Party classes. Enjoy. One note is that some of the new classes have not picked up sponsors yet. So for those classes, we?ll be sending out certificates, since the sponsor?s donation pays for the engraving and mailing of the plaques. You will know which classes are affected by a note on the first page of the class scores. I?m going to put a hold on introducing new classes until we get the present groupings massaged and in order. Regarding the party, it was a pretty good year, with about 50 logs more, which is pretty surprising given that we are on the downside of the sunspot cycle. The logs submitted tend to follow the cycle strongly. The number of Partiers that got all 67 counties was also up strongly. This is another group that usually follows the sunspot cycle. This year 54 reached that goal. Contrast with a few years back when there were only 2. I?d like to thank all of the sponsors, as well as Mark NK8Q for his help with the Sponsor?s work, with Bud AA3B for his quick conversion of logs to spreadsheets, and Elaine K3ERP for handling the money matters for me. As well, I want to thank all the partiers for making this the Friendly QSO Party. I will be a little hard to get hold of for the following weeks. Going to be down in the Florida Keys for some R&R after a stop at Hamcation. Email is fine but I won?t have access to the databases. - 73 Mike N3LI - From mjcn3li at gmail.com Mon Feb 6 12:10:15 2017 From: mjcn3li at gmail.com (Michael Coslo) Date: Mon, 6 Feb 2017 12:10:15 -0500 Subject: [PaQSO] There will be an update to the results Message-ID: <5B4A969E-096C-430E-8241-2EDED25C36CE@gmail.com> Good morning again folks, Okay, somehow I managed to miss the mobile and rover class results in the final results, and as many of you have seen, we get to do some revisions in them every year. As well, I am going to index the pdf. Addition of data is good and all, but it can get pretty cumbersome pretty quickly with over a hundred pages. I?ll have a rev a out before I leave. - 73Mike N3LI - From mjcn3li at gmail.com Mon Feb 6 22:12:50 2017 From: mjcn3li at gmail.com (Michael Coslo) Date: Mon, 6 Feb 2017 22:12:50 -0500 Subject: [PaQSO] RevA results Message-ID: <6F9B8F25-48B9-440B-8F9A-FA8DE981D31F@gmail.com> An impressive new record was set this year - Less than 24 hours before having to make a Revision A. Okay, I did two things. First thing was to address an oversight in the mobile class which has been taken care of. The second thing was that I indexed and bookmarked the pdf, which shouldmake teaching and browsing a lot easier. The file is at http://nittany-arc.net/PAQSO.html . None official without a reva included in the file name. Mea maxima culpas people. - 73 Mike N3LI - From mjcn3li at gmail.com Tue Feb 7 14:13:15 2017 From: mjcn3li at gmail.com (Michael Coslo) Date: Tue, 7 Feb 2017 14:13:15 -0500 Subject: [PaQSO] Yet another update Message-ID: Well, as it turns out, reva needed revised, as the OOS medium class had a mistake. So here is revb. It's the direct link to the PDF. Since I had to do it over again, I improved the bookmarks for easier access http://nittany-arc.net/pqppdf/2016-PQPresults-revb.pdf - 73 mike N3LI - From dave at pkministrywebs.com Thu Feb 23 10:02:40 2017 From: dave at pkministrywebs.com (Dave Edmonds) Date: Thu, 23 Feb 2017 10:02:40 -0500 Subject: [PaQSO] SCQP Announcement Message-ID: Hi PAQPers... You can see the site at http://kd8mq.net/pqp/. I hope you find it useful For those who aren't familiar with my site, it is meant to supplement, but NEVER replace the official Pa QSO Party results. My site breaks down the data by # of contacts per county, which can be useful for those who are planning their mobile routes for the upcoming party. But, After 30 years, it's time for me to hang it up. Thank's to all of you who have been so supportive of this site through the years. Your encouragement is what kept me going. But, in 1987, I had a lot more free time than I do now. HI HI The site will continue to exist until after the 2017 party. I'll decide after that what to do with it. As usual, let me know if you see any errors that need addressed. I'll continue to look forward to the 2nd weekend in October, when the "KD8MQ Beer Tasting & Contesting Group" will again invade Jefferson County! 73, John, KD8MQ From wn3yon at yahoo.com Tue Feb 28 22:11:52 2017 From: wn3yon at yahoo.com (Rob Nygren) Date: Tue, 28 Feb 2017 22:11:52 -0500 Subject: [PaQSO] KD8MQ Pa QSO Party Site - Final Update In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <1C656D68-B907-47BE-B216-DFB2DB02D864@yahoo.com> John, Thank you so much for providing the statistics over the years. I for one really appreciate your efforts. Looking at the "most rare" counties always sent me on a search for campgrounds. Carol, (KA3EEO) and I spent several beautiful autumn weekends in Susquehanna county based on your stats. And to see how "unrare" Luzerne county was, because of the efforts of the Murgas club, was fun to monitor over the years. I hope someone picks up your work.
