Any rules updates for 2016? The rules on the website are dated 2015. Just

The operating rules will be much the same. There may be changes in
awards. The rules at this point just get tweaked now and again, and
they will probably be updated for 2016 in early September.

What other awards are you considering?

If you brainstorming on this question... a OOS CW only or OOS SSB only
would probably very interesting the out of state stations. I know of many
who prefer operating single modes.

Could someone define the "20m Good Neighbor" award for me?

Good day, all,

Starting this year, the PAQSO Party will be changing the multipliers for the VE Sections. While there is truly no standard listing, it does not seem fair to not use the 4 new Ontario sections as multipliers. In the search for a standardized listing, and with none found, we have decided to go with the Canadian multiplier list that the ARRL uses for most of it?s contests. Which are:

MAR 	-VE1 and VY2
NL 		-V01 and VO2
QC  		-VE2
ONN 	-VE3
ONS	 	-VE3
ONE  	-VE3
GTA	 	-VE3
MB 		-VE4
SK  		-VE5
AB 		-VE6
BC 		-VE7
NT 		-VE8, VY1, and VY0

N1MM N3FJP and Writelog have been advised, and if anyone has software they use, and would like me to advise the writers of the changes, let me know.

Hi everyone,

I received the following from Jeff, KE8BKP. I promised to help get the word
out.

September 10th I am doing a Radio Merritt badge program for 40-75 scouts.
Dale Lamb from Canton is doing class. We are supporting him with the radio
time. Each scout needs 10 minutes of QSO time for badge. We will set up at
least one NPOTA station on TR04 North Country trail. We will also try to
work some of the Ohio state parks on the air that day since it is also
September 10. It is at camp Tuscazoar near Zoar Ohio. Anyone interested in
helping out is welcome. Everyone gets a free lunch and tickets to the pig
roast at night. We will operate 9-4 approx, Anyone interested let me know.
Especially on the NPOTA side we can fit a couple stations on the high
grassy spot and set up G5RV's in the trees. We will also try to demo
different mode and some repeater and 2M fun. Did I mention the Pig Roast?

Montour County will be activated by N3IW, NK8Q, and N3CMM with a 
multi-multi portable operation running QRP.  Once again we will use N3IW 
as the call and will be active on both CW and SSB.  We should have the 
ability to work all HF contest bands although 160m is not firm at this 
point.  We were able to gain access to a very nice location with lots of 
trees for antennas.

I know the contest is a little bit away, but I figured I'd kick off the 
build up early.

Hope to be able to give everybody a shot at getting MTR in the log.

Is it that time already?

Well, I'm still waiting to hear about my time off request from work. If
approved, I (N3TWM) plan on operating portable from either Centre or Warren
counties, most likely Centre. If no one steps up to activate Warren and the
possibility of the county not being activated exists, I know somewhere I
could go.

This will be my first PAQP operating under my own call. Last year I led the
NARC club effort from W3YA. The plan is to operate high power (600w)
portable, on at least 15, 20 ,40 and 80m. I'm considering 160 as well. As
always listening on .52 as well.

I hope everyone else is thinking about their plans for this year!

Since you are seeking award ideas... I couldn't resist...

I'd love to see the PAQP offer both High and Low Power awards for each of
the Out Of State Time Zones. That would sure even out the OOS playing
field.

One new party class for 2016 will be for remote stations. This is a station that is accessed remotely, usually form home, usually via the internet, with the RF transmission coming from the location of the remote station. 

The County or Section claimed for the remote station will be the County or Section the RF emanates from. 

Note that this is not irlp or Echolink. This is the equivalent of a really long mic or key line to an otherwise normal station.

"Last Man Standing" Producer, John Amodeo, NN6JA says they will fire up the IC-7700 (on-set studio) station HF radio TODAY a little after 6:30pm EDT.

They are using an inverted V on the roof of Stage 9 at CBS's Television City.

Look for them on 40m phone around 7.216 +/- QRM if you want to get in the log.

The crew Club Callsign is KA6LMS.
Tell the op I sent you, hi! Good luck.
