[PaQSO] Rover query

I've done a rover operation in PaQP several times, as well as rover operations in the Ohio QSO Party.

The one change I would very much like to see in PA is to allow rovers to make qsos while in motion between stops. I have used separate calls for operating while stopped as a rover and for operating while moving as a mobile. It is a major pain, and with PA's uniquely complicated log submission process (summary sheets for each county, etc.) last year I never got around to submitting logs for either effort.

Rover is a great class. Last year I showed up Sunday afternoon as the first active station in Cambria county, and with a 33 foot piece of wire fed against the minivan counterpoise, I had 135 QSOs in 45 minutes. One simply does not work that kind of rate on 40 meters with a seven foot mobile whip! And that antenna only takes about five minutes to erect.

I'd just like to not have to go QRT (or start over fresh) every time we started moving.

Plans are not certain for 2015, but I hope to get out for one day, more likely Sunday.

Subject: [PaQSO] Rover query

On a separate matter from updates, I’d love to know who is planning on operating
as a Rover this year.

Roving is a tough class, and I’d love to get some
feedback from people to see if there are any changes we can make to make it more
attractive to people.

Now when making changes, I always need to determine that
changes don’t impact other classes, so doing things like eliminating county line
stations are not going to work. But I want to hear any and all suggestions.
