[PaQSO] Mobile across northern route

Hi Bud and all,

Once again, using the call W3CG, Laurie (N3KZI, driver) and I (AA2AD,
op) plan to head off across the norther tier of the state, heading east
from Erie County. On Sunday morning, we will drop south and come back west
through a different series of counties. This will be our third such trip in
the last four years. We typically hit about 20 counties, depending on how
far east we get on Saturday. I may switch to SSB when CW dries up, but my
focus will be on 40 CW.

Last year, we rented a van for the PAQP. It was comfortable, but I had
S6-S7 ignition noise and I know that I missed many stations who were
calling me (sorry). This year, I have already put considerable time and
resources into taming a Chevy Cobalt and installing a TS-480HX w/ CW
filter. I have no discernible ignition noise. Heck, I might even replace
the whip-autotuner combination with a screwdriver antenna. Any
recommendations?

     73 and CU there,

-Peter (AA2AD dba W3CG)
