I agree.
At worst, if you tell someone that they're a dupe & they disagree with you, don't waste time arguing, log them and move on. If for no other reason, it implies that one of the two of you made a typo of some sort during the logging process.
But not always.
Many, many moons ago, under my prior call, I remember calling an 8 station, very early in the contest (within my first 15 minutes QRV) who insisted that I was a dupe. Simply wasn't possible, but he insisted -- even berated me a bit on the air. So I didn't argue with him any further & moved on. Sometime later that afternoon, he caught up to me and apologized -- it seems that his logging program at the time wasn't set to show a "WN3" prefix as valid, so it flagged me as a dupe instead!
Stuff happens.
