N1MM Logger will assign non-zero QSO points if the combination of the call
and exchange are unique.

Scott, I agree, although I didn't hear many doing that, but then I was
mostly running and not doing S&P.

Several years ago I gave up explaining to others when and why they were a
dupe to have them try to correct their logs. As I generally operate as
NK8Q, sometimes they put it in straight or sometimes as NK8Q/3 (which is
partially my fault because I sign that on CW to clarify that I'm in PA or on
voice I say "NK8Q in Pennsylvania" so that stations in VA and MD and so on
don't think I'm in OH, MI or WV instead and pass over me). This year
operating as W3TDF/CLE I figure I had about 15 or more dupes. I logged all
of them without blinking an eye. The logging program doesn't care and it
conveniently assigns it as zero points, so I don't get a penalty. Plus, if
the first contact is screwed up instead and the points were given on that
one they would then apply to the second QSO instead, so it is a win-win. I
also just find it quicker to log the dupe and move on. Anyway, I think the
dupes are due to the various ways of logging the W3TDF stations. N1MM
Logger seemed to prefer W3TDF/xxx in the callsign field, while I heard that
WB3W or N8FJP would take just the W3TDF and then allow the different
counties to be entered in the exchange field. Not sure what other programs
did.

I'm beat, hitting the rack ...
