Thank you so very much for bringing that up in the forum. Since you have taken the position of bringing this up on the reflector in public, I will discuss this with you on the reflector, in public, so that everyone knows what you are talking about.

Your desire for changes in the Rover position would have entailed me:

Eliminating county line stations.

Allowing 500 point bonuses for Rovers when they do not move.

Negatively impacting portable stations, as they can automatically move to county line stations and call themselves Rovers.

Completely disregarding the entire concept of Roving. There are county lines where a Rover station could pick up 2500 points without ever moving.

We had this discussion, where you dismissed my entire rationale, which included that Rovers are not the only group I have to worry about, I have to worry about everyone.

Most very respectfully Scott, you expected me to throw the County line stations and mobiles (who would have to move), and portable stations under the bus so that you could operate as a multi-county Rover effort without ever moving.

But you forgot the most important part of the equation. If county line stations were eliminated, that Rover station would have to move between every county too. Your concept would completely eliminate your concept.

Because while we make a little leeway for safety purposes on county line stations, if there are no county line stations, the antenna and station then MUST be in the county you are operating from. How are you going to do that without moving?

But that’s what I’m here for. Not all suggestions are actionable. Sometimes what people would like me to change or to do has a major impact on other operators. Some are impossible or completely impractical.

I can’t imagine that you would want me to eliminate other’s enjoyment of the party, and I’m sure that wasn’t your aim. But no one major rule change in a basic group can happen without major impacts on others.

County line stations are extremely popular, both among the operators of the stations, and the operators who work them. Eliminating them would put me in the witness protection program

And that is really the thing here Scott, I suspect that part of your issue with the Spotting - which has been going on for just about ever - is your issue and more based on your anger with me.

Now here is the big thing. Spotting has gone on forever, and with no one complaining before this year, and with your mentioning our little issue, I can only imagine that is the most of the problem. You need to try running a QSO Party some time, where whatever decision you make alienates someone for life.

But most respectfully, if you plan on disrespecting Ray by refusing to operate in this year's version of the PQP, in main part because of your continuing anger with me? That is 100 percent your disrespect, 100 percent on you, not me.

And that would be just about as big a shame as I can imagine.
