This is from our Digital operator at W3ZGD Bonus Station (he is not on the
list)
Can you send a note out on the reflector that I would be interested in any
comments regarding setting up a couple specific digital periods.
- I am tentatively thinking about starting off the contest (1600z Oct 12)
on 40m digital.
- I plan to operate close to the suggested frequencies listed in the
rules
- I'll operate on both RTTY and PSK modes. If I'm not on PSK, check
RTTY and vice versa.
- I will hang around on 40m digital for at least a hour (1600z-1700z)
and will stay around longer if activity is steady.
- I'd would also be happy to set up another fixed digital period towards
the end of the first contest period (0400z-0500z) on 40m and/or 80m.
- I'm also planning on trying RTTY/PSK on the high bands primarily for
stations outside the east coast. I'd be open to setting a fixed time on
those bands too if there is enough interest. Otherwise, I'll will
randomly give the high bands a go depending on what's going on.
- I'm also open to setting up a digital window on Sunday if there is
enough interest. Otherwise, I will randomly pop up on various bands
depending on band conditions.
- I do not want to set up too many fixed periods incase the effort turns
out to be a bust and there is little or no activity. Maybe two or three
fixed periods -- otherwise people will have to randomly catch up with us
somewhere on the bands.
73, Jim
