Last night I confirmed the location for my portable operation for this
year's PA QSO Party in Mifflin County.  I had a great time in Mifflin a few
years ago and am looking forward to being back there again.  The last time
I was there I operated from a farm bed-and-breakfast at the Weiler Mansion
located along Front Mountain Road in "Big Valley" or "Kishacoquillas
Valley" just outside of Belleville.  It was very peaceful there with Amish
buggies going past.  This year, rather than operating from Big Valley I
will be operating from just outside of Lewistown just off of Big Ridge Road
which overlooks Lewistown from several hundred feet above.  While not the
rarest county, at least it is close to home here in State College and my
membership at the Lewistown Pistol Club where I'll operate from seems to be
paying off in more ways than one.  Hopefully I don't get shot mid-QSO!

Those stations who are going to be mobile along US-322, US-22 or US-522
through that area should be able to work me no problem.  It would be nice
if I could finally get a clean sweep this year!

I will be operating both Phone and CW, about a 50/50 mix although more
heavily weighted toward CW.  I will primarily operate on 80 - 20m and will
probably attempt 15 and 10m if conditions allow for it.  I may have 160m
capability for late at night on Saturday as well.  I typically have put up
a simple 6m and 2m antenna but have rarely had enough contacts on those
bands to justify even the minor effort of putting those out, so we'll see.
I'll be portable QRP again this year, but I think nobody complained that
they missed Cameron last year so I think my QRP signal must have been
okay.
