W3HAM/m will primarily be in Adams the first couple hours of the contest mostly
SSB but will visit at least CW for some contacts with slower speed stations. Then W3HAM will motor almost non-stop thru Franklin, maybe work a few stations on SSB. Might also be a Bathroom/meal stop in Franklin before going to Fulton Saturday and seeing what develops there.

Will try 40 SSB First from each county and CW would be last before departing a county. If you want me on CW you will need to slow down to 10-13 wpm as I just don't use enough CW to keep my speed up. But I'll try to give the CW buffs some contacts from each of my two primary counties.

Take it easy on me and be patient, I'm getting old and manually logging and operating. Hope you guys can find the weak 100 watt mobile- Hi.

Basically, as long as stations find me without too much delay between calls I'll stay in each county long enough and plan to be in each county at least 2 hours. If I'm busy I won't leave a bunch of you hanging because of time. Since these counties may be fairly rare I'll do my best to accommodate as many of you as my lightly arthritic hands allow especially on cw.

I'm kinda surprized nobody has announced yet from Juniata County. I mobiled there
2 years ago and had a great time till I accidentally ran my car battery down from so much on the air activity. There are at least 2 good spots to operate from there. Mike Coslo found a hilltop (saw him as I drove by) and I found a spot at a public park.  If there is an uncommitted mobile out there you really should consider a trip
to Juniata County.

Weather depending, the Bald Eagle Repeater Association will be setting up a station or two for this year?s event. This year we will be setup at Indian Park in Montoursville for Lycoming County on Saturday Only. As far as I have heard,  we should again be using the callsign K3B for the event, and be running on most bands, 10-80m.
For anyone wishing to join us, we will be located in Pav. 1 which is located near the duck pond at the end of Park Road. Setup will begin at 9:00 AM with a picnic for all in attendance before the start of the party. Everyone is welcome to stop by and join us for the fun, food and good times! If not we hope to work you on the air!

Does anyone have plans to operate VHF/UHF?  I have made a few QSOs on 6m,
2m and 440 MHz in the past but not in the last two years.  As a portable
operation I do not want to put up extra antennas for no real benefit.  If
anyone does plan to have those bands, what frequencies?  SSB and/or FM?  I
would prefer SSB and most modern multiband rigs that include VHF/UHF could
easily do those modes with more success than FM.  I was always hoping to
catch somebody who was mobile in my own county in Clinton and Cameron the
last two years, and had the VHF/UHF options there just in case as well, but
so far I'm still shy a clean sweep.

Thanks for the feedback,

Mark, NK8Q (/P in MIF this year)

Mark, I'll be listening on 6 from Texas and hoping for some E-skip while
operating HF during the PA QSO Party.  E-skip is rare this time of year
but can happen.  This map shows openings in North America on 6 in real
time.  You can also have alerts sent to you via e-mail when an opening
is posted.
