*I VOTE to KEEP the County Line Stations!*
We are not as fortunate as California to have the ham population per County
like they do. Activation of all the counties is a major accomplishment.
Who makes that possible, First and Foremost Rovers and Mobiles, Second the
portable stations and 3rd the county line stations.

I think the rules for County Lines stations needs a major over haul.
Here is my suggestion:
Remedy for logging- State in the rules: If you work a county line station
then the proper procedure for this contact is to log them as two separate
contacts. One for county A and one for County B. Both contacts get the
same sequence number from the county line station.

Since there is no mathematical advantage to working as county line station,
when the county line station is giving away 2 pts for phone and 4 points
for cw contacts. Reward them with some form of a flat bonus. Or include
them in the same category as mobiles and rovers and award a multiplier
advantage for activating county one and county two. Do this and see if
some one don't find a tri or quad county line the first year. (Google Maps
here I come, LOL).

Before you all jump all over this and say: what about a bonus for rovers /
mobiles ect. As a seasoned VHF rover when you change counties its like
starting the contest all over again. They all ready get a multiplier
advantage for activating a new county- That's their bonus- And that is
totally fair in my book. A multiplier advantage is worth far more than a
flat bonus.

>From the perspective as an operator from a county line station recently,
hearing all the "Thank You, I needed that one" late in the game on Sunday
put a smile on my face and I responded with "glad to be here to give it out
to you". It takes a rare bread of operators to pack up all their gear and
haul it some where and set it up and tear it down 24 hrs later. So lets
not discourage county activation. Come on Gas prices to operate rover and
mobile are not going to be below $3.00 for a long time. So this is another
tool in the PA QSO Party tool box to help ensure all counties are activated.
