[PaQSO] Aero Mobile?

Here's something to chew on during the summer doldrums before we gear up for
the best state QSO party in the country. in my biased opinion, of course.
How would you handle a station running Aeronautical Mobile? More
specifically, how would that station identify which county(s) it's in, or at
least over, while it's in the air?
This is not exactly a hypothetical question. A member of my club (and my
M/S team) is currently working on his pilot's license. While it may not
happen this year, he's at least semi-serious about doing at least a little
operating, during the contest, up in the air.
(Actually, he's planning to fly, and have me log & operate. We'll see about
that! And no, I don't know how he's planning to pay for the fuel yet, one
thing at a time.)
If we do this, we want to do it right. Which means making our best efforts
to do so.
So I'm asking. if you were operating onboard a mobile that's 5000 feet or
more in the air, how would you figure out which county(s) you were over at
any given time?
