Lately I've been reading mail from this group
This past spring I spent a day checking out some new areas to operate as a rover..  I am going to stay closer to home this year.
Last year I had a real problem on Saturday in our first two county stops.  I had checked out everything but the laptop that I had borrowed. Take note - Check everything guys.  My rig ran flawlessly, but the charger on the lap top was ripping forty meters apart. The battery was not holding a charge well, and when I plugged in the charger, I saw S9 noise levels. So I struggled in Wayne and Lackawanna County. Afterward I stopped at my QTH and was forced to pull out an old computer but did bring along a 21 inch monitor for the rest of the contest.
This year I plan on starting in Pike county. I found a very nice location well above 2,000 asl..  Later in the afternoon I will move to Wayne, and then will do Luzerne on Saturday evening.  Sunday I plan on starting in Lackawanna and then will finish up in Monroe
Of course, weather permitting
Someone please consider Montour and Northhumberland.
Lets start getting things rolling in here. Summer is half over and the contest will be right around the corner.  Perhaps it will give portable stations time to fill in those hard to work counties
Talk soon
